What funny/weird/cool things have people said about your 4Runner?

1: Whenever I go muddin and get the runner covered in mud and my buddy's girlfriend sees it, she always insists on writing "SEXY BEAST" down the side of it. I guess she likes it when I get dirty. :naughty: 2: Another buddy of mine has a stock '93 Jeep Cherokee. (and he's one of those guys who...

    Backfire/Studder under acceleration

Wow haha, that's awesome man! I had a similar problem with my old '89 240SX, I bought it cheap and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. (which was why the previous owner sold it) Turned out it was a sensor not connected properly! Good to hear you figured it out!

    Charlottetown Toyota

Well, this is somewhat true lol. I do usually do all the work to my rigs, but at the time I was so busy with work and other stuff that I didn't really have much time to mess around with it and try to figure it out. So, I figured I'd take it over to the dealer on my break (which was just up the...

93'-98' Toyota Supra Twin Turbo VS. Nissan Skyline R34

The MKlV Supra and the R34 Skyline are both amazing machines! I have been a big fan of Nissan for a while because I used to own an '89 240 SX before I got my '87 RX-7 and loved it, I also love the whole line of Z's Silvia's and skyline's as well. But, my dream car for a very long time has...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Today I replaced the right rear sway bar end link after snapping it wile I was off roadin lol. While I had the wheels off I checked and adjusted my rear brakes, then bolted the corner of the skid plate for the gas tank back up cuz that was hanging too.

    Backfire/Studder under acceleration

Ok, well I would either check it myself or ask the guy who worked on it to see if it had proper fuel pressure to the injectors.. I don't know, the only possibilities I can think of would be: maybe bought a bad pump, maybe clogged fuel line, some sensor somewhere, or a clog in the fuel rail or...

    Backfire/Studder under acceleration

Wow that's weird! Have you had the fuel pressure tested at the motor?

    Backfire/Studder under acceleration

I had this similar problem with my 96 Runner! I think it might be a fuel problem, mine had a rusted out filler neck that I didn't know about right away, so a bunch of mud got in the tank and started to plug up the pump. This is when the sputtering and popping/backfiring started under...

How many miles on your 4runner?

My 96 Runner has the original 2.7L engine, and it has over 349,000 almost 350,000 kms on it!! I'm not quite sure what that works out to in miles, but it's still runnin strong!

    Charlottetown Toyota

I took my Runner to Charlottetown Toyota to get them to figure out a lack of power / bogging issue, I knew it wasn't a problem with fuel or ignition cuz I replaced pretty much every part in the fuel and ignition systems. The guy had it in there for about 10 min and told me he scanned the...

What gen is the best for off-roading?

I would have to say it's between the 1st and 3rd gens. I happen to own a 3rd gen and it's pretty much stock aside from 31" Trail Master M/Ts, I haven't lifted it yet. The 3rd gen in the mud is actually very impressive, I have never gotten stuck, and I'v been in sloppy plowed fields and mud...
