Truck died and wont restart - IAC code

Copy that. I took out and cleaned the TB a few weeks ago but didnt take off the IAC. Today, another weird symptom -- When I tried to see if there were additional codes, the code scanner didnt want to work -- keeps on showing a "Linking Error". It might be my scanner but it was working...

Truck died and wont restart - IAC code

Hi all. My 96 v6 was nursing a p0505 IAC code but seemed to run fine. Anfew days later it would stall at stop lights very seldom but easily restart. Today it stalled and refused to start. Had to tow it home. It cranks and turns fine (new battery) but no start. I recently cleaned the...

    Cobiker's 96 LTD build

Update On the ABS - I now narrowed down the problem to the front driver side ABS sensor (Yes I replugged the ABS fuse). That wheel was always the one acting up. Pads are new and when the wheel was off, I took the opportunity to pull off the ABS sensor, cleaned it with a rag, then put it back...

HELP ME MY ABS AlMOST KILLED ME.

Location of ABS sensor in the front: in the back: Its held in by one bolt, and may take some coaxing with a flathead screwdriver to remove. Be careful not to gouge the seal surface though. I just wiped off the sensor itself, which wasnt particularly dirty - just a layer of dirty oil...

My clicking, clanking, and clunking driving me crazy!

Aside from what was said already.... drive shaft lube needed? I had a pop (wouldnt call it hard though) when starting, stopping or going over a hump. Took out the grease gun and shot lube into the drive shaft. Noise gone. Edit: Never mind... I just realized youve already done that.

HELP ME MY ABS AlMOST KILLED ME.

Just an update on my ABS debacles. As posted above, I pulled the fuse on my ABS and had been happy, except for one sort of inattentive moment where I jammed on the brakes too hard on a wet blacktop and a momentary fishtail occurred. Otherwise, OK. I changed brake pads and 1 front rotor...

Bent rear axle; USDM T4R in Australia

Ouch! I believe Surfs or LC Prado 90 series axles will do. but as said above, check gear ratios. I also have a bent axle, but nothing near as bad as that, and I still drive it around until I can find some time and patience to replace it.

    ABS Problem?

Its the bad ABS. I've pulled the fuse on mine and have had no issues since. However, I DONT pull a trailer and there is NO ice or snow where I live.

Sensors -That's exactly what I'm suspecting. Rear ones can be seen on the thread detailing axle seals and bearing change. Well documented. Front sensors- I don't know.

HELP ME MY ABS AlMOST KILLED ME.

Im not looking into a debate on ABS systems IN GENERAL. Maybe I should've said that the ABS in MY PARTICULAR 96 LTD is to blame. Not ABS systems in general. I agree that a properly working ABS would've helped. Ive had ABS in many of the vehicles I've driven over the 22 years Ive been driving...
