My son was hit in my 96 4runner and it appears not only is the left rear axle bent, but the axle housing is also bent. Mechanic says toyota doesn't make them anymore and his parts service says the nearest is 500 miles away. Anyone out there with experience on a rear axle housing?? Thanks!

I stopped using Seafoam and went to Berryman B12. Lots cheaper too. I have had good success with Cataclean from Autozone to clean O2 sensors. O2 sensors can throw a code if they are slightly out of spec (getting old and or dirty) Cataclean is about $24 bucks but better than replacing an O2...

I bought a '96 limited 3.4 4x4 5 weeks ago with 158K. 1st thing is check frame for rust. 2nd check lower ball joints. See if the dealer has maintenance records so you know when the timing belt was done (the 3.4 is a non-interference engine so if the belt goes, you only need a tow vs an engine)...

I have had the '01 for about 5 years and just bought the '96. Both stock 16" rims. I noticed the '96 sits higher by about 1-1/2" measuring from the hub to the fender skirt. Anyone know why? Both have about the same mileage 158K.

rear washer I found the leak today. Where the hard plastic hose goes through the inner passenger fender had a hole rubbed through it. I took off the passenger rocker plate and kick plate but the hose doesn't want to move so I can splice the hole. Lots of stuff behind the kickplate and can't...

I just purchased this vehicle and the only thing that doesn't work is the locker. The light keep flashing. I should get it home today where I can jack it up and see if it is engaging. Any thoughts?

Got most of the service records. Timing belt 15,000 ago. needs a deep cleaning. RRlocker light flashing. don't think it was ever used. It may need service to get working. Any advice on the locker is appreciated! Oh yeah, I bought it. $1600.00. I will post pics as soon as I get it back home.
