I have to disagree, I think if you really took your rig out to the max and needed something you had to trust and rely on, none of the new technology is tested or proven enough yet to compare to what the 4runner can offer. im not arguing its unchanged and a little dated... but I am arguing...

Oh man.... I did all this and first off before you go any further, ready my review on teh daystar spacer kit I posted here when I did the daystar kit (2.5 Front and 1.5 Rear) it was ok but the second I went off road it was "annoying"... read my review and you will get the diff of it I went...

believe it or not the rigs are designed to take this kind of abuse.... the only thing you're going to want to keep an eye on is suspension over heating. Toyota officially notes as well that the trucks are safe to ride in up to 27.5 inches of water before claims will be denied on warranty...

a lot of the inspiration I found for my rig was through members on this forum. its not a bad place for your 4runner research.

I really dont think the 4Runner has been left out in the pasture... the rig is so solid they if anything are avoiding much change or worried about changing to much due to the history of reliability the rig has, to much change might scare away the people considering the rig based on its...
