Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

No, your sway bar will dig into the coilovers if you go lower than 213mm. If you left the bolts for the trailing arms tight, then you were fighting the bushings to get it to drop down. Those need to be loosened, and then retightened on the ground at the new ride height, otherwise you're riding...

2018 TRD Pro with cracked spring on Bilstein PTR13-89160-RF

This was a very common problem, and that's my guess as to why Toyota stopped using Bilstein for them, and switched to Fox, but then Fox had the same problem occasionally too. I think they used the same coil spring provider, and they failed the same way, by breaking. These springs here will...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

With no miles on it, nothing would have settled and the measurements you have won't be accurate yet. These springs take 500-1000 miles to break in. Go compress them hard, aka railroad tracks and speed humps and break them in. When everything in the rear is disconnected, the axle can swing...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Yeah, those IMS struts can work on the 4th Gens, the lower bushing is just a little wide so they ever have to shave down the sleeve or open up the lower mounts a bit. The ARB skids are good, not super heavy duty, but good for the average joe running around the trails, and definitely better than...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Correct, this forum doesn't host photos, you have to post them somewhere online and share the URL to embed them into the forum. It's like 15+ year old software they're running here. LOL. People use Flickr and similar sites now to link their photos. 4Runner looks great!!

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Hey bud Yeah, I'm doing well thanks. Thanks for jumping back on here. Ok, a 2WD V6 model. Those lift more than a 4x4, so the front parts will be different. C59-238 lifts 2" on a 2WD, 1" on a 4x4, so you'll need these GS59-220 ext travel struts add 1", so you'll have 3" of total with good...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Hey bud Yeah this thread is still alive!! Yes that combo of parts will work. The 574 struts are an ideal sub for the 220s with the lower bushing change. You won't notice a difference. You'll get the best alignment with the adjustable UCA's. Yeah a bit overkill but they'll still work great...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Hey bud, you don't have a 4WD, so you can't use that front combo. It would be about 4.5" on a 2WD, which is not allowed. I have a note on line 2 of our kit builder page about 2WD's. https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-1-to-3-5-build-a-kit-toyota-4runner-5th-gen/ 2WD models add 1" to...

KDSS - Is there an Aftermarket Repair Option

I wouldn't trust a used one. I had a customer recently with only 50k miles on his KDSS system and the piston was having the same problem. Mind you, it was a 2015 model and just hardly ever driven, but the piston was shot. I think most people that never offroad them have no problems with them.

KDSS - Is there an Aftermarket Repair Option

Not that people necessarily want to remove their KDSS, but if you do end up needing to, we sell this rear KDSS delete bracket kit so you can weld on the brackets needed to run a stock rear sway bar. And up front, you can mount a stock non-KDSS sway bar by drilling and tapping holes up there...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Thanks for the order!! Yeah, check the lower arm bushings and see if they're seized or not, and replace if needed. That would be about it.

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Thanks for sharing!! That's a really nice setup, and I've used that as an example several times before. It's a great setup to refresh the suspension without raising it too much.

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Hey bud. For what you're doing with the vehicle, you pretty much don't need the IMS. The GS twin tube option will be ideal, and it rides so nice, just like the other member just posted. Read this for a quick take on the shock differences too: https://exitoffroad.com/different-shock-types/...
