All four of my doors creak when opened, especially opened slowly. The noise is not coming from the hinges, but the black arm that goes inside the body of the door. Anyone else have this? What the best way to fix it?

Thanks for all the answers, I made the switch this evening to a full synthetic. Filter placement is a PITA, lol. I mainly was interested in synthetic for the sludge/varnish removal properties, and also because this 4Runner will be doing mainly short trips and city driving in 100 degree plus...

I also read on the Yotatech forums about people using 1/2 to 1 quart of ATF in the crankcase to clean everything out. Has anyone here tried this?

Thanks for the great replies everyone. I am interested in switching because of the sludge/varnish removing properties of the detergents in synthetic. Is there another effective way to remove these besides going synthetic??

Proud new owner of a 2002 SR5 here, I'm converted to 4Runners! I had an inspection done before I purchased this 1 owner vehicle, and the shop said it was one of the cleanest they've seen and in great condition. What a great rig, I've been missing out for years! I lurked here for awhile before...

Paid $9500 for my 2002 SR5 2WD w/ 95k miles and leather int here in California. Immaculate inside and out, 1 owner. 4Runners are hard to find used because they are so popular, many sell within a couple days.
