I had a problem with the locking mechanism for the longest time. It would lock and immediately release again. Something wrong with the sensor. I finally gave up and ordered a new unit from Toyota. When I removed the old lock I took it apart and salvaged the motor which looks...
Ok, I just solved the problem. Pulled all the plugs from the ECU, waited 10 minutes and reconnected them....nothing. Next I removed the 30 Amp "POWER" fuse, waited 10 seconds, replugged it and ...voila...works perfectly.
