hi, just wondering if a K&N filter makes much difference to performance/ fuel etc

hi guys, i have a problem with my rear window. it goes down but will not go up, i have had an auto electrician look at it but he didnt have much time, it went up using some sort of switch tool that he had but it wont work with either the key or the switch inside. any thoughts? cheers

thanks guys, it has a brand new genuine fuel filter and is still doing the same thing. only after going over bumpy surfaces, around town it drives fine, it had been sitting for months and the fuel had been run dead empty. do you think cleaning out the fuel tank would do any good? i drained it...
