Get Nokians or something with the same pattern. Studded if the vehicle is driven a lot at night. Black ice is nasty stuff. Consider 245/70R17 for stock height or 245/75R17 for a little larger than stock, narrower tires do better in slick conditions and will hydro-plane less in slush and standing...

They're too busy staring at their iDistractions I used to not like the look of the 4th Gen, then I started shopping for one and it grew on me enough that it's now my favorite. My biggest disappointment with the 5th Gens is no V8. I love my V8!

Yeah I still have the stock front bumper. Doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to make something, but I'm very very short on time these days!

I'm not finding much for radiator protection in searches. All the aftermarket skids I've found don't protect it. Anybody know of one?

I'm wondering what other folks are using to keep their dog in the back of their 4th Gen? Like a screen or bars that go behind the rear seat. I'd like to keep costs down but I want good quality. Thanks for any info!

Snow tire season is approaching fast. My top candidate is the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2. I'm trying to decide which size. My stock tires are 265/65R17. The LT2 has three close sizes 265/70R17, 245/75R17, and 235/80R17. I'd like to go a little skinnier than stock, but I think the 235 would be too...

I'm starting to tinker and catch up on the maintenance for my 2003 4Runner Limited V8. I'll be getting a set of FSMs soon. I know they're available online but I'd rather have them in print and not hassle with printing and binding. My previous Toyotas were pre-OBDII so I just pulled the codes...

It would just spin the starter, it wouldn't fire. Plus it wigged me out having something that could cause the rig to start unexpectedly. Big warning sticker under the hood.

I removed the remote starter from my 2003 4Runner Limited V8 today. It was located under the dash to the left of the steering column. I just unplugged all the wires from it and removed the module. Now the VSC seems less sensitive, I can throw it sideways on a swooping dirt corner of my driveway...

Can I fit 16" rims on a 2003 V8 Limited? I'm not sure if they'll clear the brakes? It would open up a lot of tire possibilities if I can.

I had a moose jump in front of my 95 4Runner. I didnt try to swerve. Luckily I was only doing 35mph. Drove home with a broken headlight, dented hood, cracked grill, and bent radiator support.

I hear that! Makes me nervous to be in the market for a new truck. Wish I could get something with good ABS, good all-around air bags, proper crumple zones, AND NOTHING ELSE.
