I read the manual. It just tells me how to shift transfer. It said nothing about reverse though. That's what I am mainly concerned with.

That's right. New to 4WD. Wondering if when in 4H should I be able to go in reverse. Tried before and it was like the truck did not want to do it. Basically I want to know what precautions should be taken when shifting to and driving in 4H and 4L. Its a 2014 SR5 by the way.

No noticeable, overwhelming plastic/rubber smell at all. I have the standard cargo area; no 3rd row and no sliding cargo tray.
