Was there ever a resolution to this? I'm taking my 2003 to a mechanic tomorrow and would like to know ahead of time if you found a solution other than paying for an entire new HVAC unit... Thanks, Jim

I bought some ATPs back in October and have been real happy with them. Did better than expected through some thick mud and on a hill climb. Haven't really pushed the envelope with them yet, but no complaints here. The guy at Discount Tire said he's never had anyone complain about the ATPs...

Wife and I are heading to Asheville tonight and will be returning Sat afternoon/evening. There's a slight chance I could convince her to take the "scenic" route and go down Richland Rd on the way back to Charlotte... Anyone potentially interested in joining? Jim

What year 4runner do you have? I just bought these as well... will have an update in a few days after I swap.. I run an '03.

This is basically what I do as well. No real complaints other than having a sunroof makes it a little more difficult... headliner/sunroof takes away a few of those inches off the top available space near the driver for the longer rods (fly rods/surf rods).
