I tried to run a scan on it yesterday but i have no power to the plug..... I also had no CEL so i pulled it all apart today and i had a dead bulb, ive put a new bulb in now and my CEL is on with ignition and not illuminated when the engine is running.... this means i have no codes right??

Well today I swapped out my fuel filter for a brand new one and then pressure tested. Fuel supply is fine. Sitting around 38psi on idle and climbing to around 45/50 while driving. Please guys this is driving me crazy now!!

I've used some windscreen sealant on it. Should keep it pretty dry!

all of the plugs and spades were clean. I just took the relay apart, cleaned with rubbing alcohol and applied some WD40 to drive out any moisture as there was some rust inside the relay. then i put it all back together and sealed up the outside to prevent any moisture getting in.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I have a pretty nasty broken exhaust, before the 02 sensor. I know in theory this can cause an idle surge, but the exhaust has been broken for about 3 weeks and the surge has only occurred this week since the fuel pump relay issue.

Don't think I can afford one of those fancy smoke machines. I'll give my lines a check over later and use the carb cleaner technique

First off i have a '93 3L V6 Manual So last week my truck would'nt start. turned out to be a fuel pump issue, no power. I removed the fuel pump relay as i suspected this to be the issue and hotwired the fuel pump as a temp. fix. Then a couple days ago i put the fuel pump relay back in to test...

The relay i have been testing was the one behind the glove box on the passenger side a pillar. (bare in mind i have a Right hand drive here in Australia) The relay in the fuse box in the engine bay is missing, no relay, no plug for a relay and no wiring there. so i have no idea where that one...

Right..... So I've just put the relay back in as I was planning just lose the appature pin with my finger just to test relay or MAF and before I even touched it the truck started. So the relay works... Guess I just have an intermittent problem with it.

That's another problem I have. The relay under the hood is not there.....

The other thing I'm wondering is if I do jump the relay that will bypass the MAF aswell won't it? So the only way I can test if it's the MAF is to put a known working relay in??

Thanks for your replys! Forgot to mention, I have a '93 3vze manual. I can't test the MAF unless I put in a known good relay or jump it and I'm not too sure yet what pins should jump (at the momemt I have the fuel pump hot wired not jumped) The relay I have is a 5 pin duel relay, Toyota have...

Hi guys. I am in the Australian outback and my car stopped running last week. I hotwired my fuel pump and that got it running again but it's pretty lumpy on tick over. First off i thought it must be the fuel pump relay but somebody has just suggested it could just as easily be the MAF. Nobody...

So something started hissing today and leaking some oil. Can anyone tell me what it is? I've circled it in red here in the pic. Thanks!

As far as I can tell it's the OE fuel pump. When I hard wired it I used the access panel under the back seats so it is still the pump in the tank I think
