    New Tacoma vs New 4Runner?

I just went from a 2004 4Runner SR5 to a Taco Sport with Leather. I do miss the 4Runner - it was just such a quite smooth ride compared to the Taco but I need the hauling capacity. Compromises that I really didnt want to make but had to in addition to those stated above - no low washer fluid...

    2012 pricing released

For those in Canada, the 2012 Tacoma's are cheaper than the 2011 model and they have more content in fact - perhaps some hope we might see the gap narrow.

    4runner Trail vs Tacoma

Sorry to say but I traded my 04 v8 Runner for a 2011 Taco this past weekend. I needed the bed for work on our small farm and for those trips to Home Depot when I would inevitable cuss a lot trying to get anything in the back of the 4Runner - fold down this, open that door, move that, oops I...

    4runner Trail vs Tacoma

I've just been through this whole debate - for me the Taco makes more sense - we run a small farm so a lot of hauling etc. The Taco will probably edge the 4Runner on resale based on my research but not by much - there is still a good market for a truck that can haul stuff from Home Depot etc -...

    Dog Jumped On My Door

Take your friends dog, apply some scratchx to it's head and buff the car thoroughly with said dog. This will remove the scratch and hopefully reduce the risk of recurrence.

    tire kingdom situation

If you do have warped rotors check you don't have a stuck caliper as well - its very common on the fronts in particular and it will warp your new rotors if not fixed - do you have any pulling to one side when braking - that's a giveaway sign of it.

    Front brakes shot after 32000kms

That sucks - I assume you are in Canada so the dealership is likely to take you for $500+ to replace the pads and rotors if they won't warranty it. Were the calipers ok ? (Still wondering if the 4th Gen issues will trickle through to the 5th Gens)

    2012 t4r?

I believe they spring out to the sides in fact - you have seen Chitty chitty bang bang I presume? (It probably means underlit - I believe the 4th Gen ltd had something along those lines.)

Question for those with factory heated seats.

I may be wrong but I though the seat warmers in the Limited allow for a variable heat control, whereas the SR5 option package ones are just a hi or lo setting. If somebody could confirm that it may be the reason why the Limited owners above are having no problems and the SR5 owners are less...

Drive Shaft/ Prop joint recall coming soon!

If it's a tsb rather than a recall, it will only be applicable to those in warranty or prepared to pay for the fix. I suspect the only shaft I will get from Toyota will be the one they try to give me on my 04 v8 trade in for a new 4Runner or Tacoma.

Considering 4Runner SR5; JGC Laredo also in mix

If you decide on the Jeep I recommend you lease it over 4 years with a warranty to match - I can promise you anything Chrysler built is well past it's prime at that point and most of those fancy gadgets you may be impressed with now will likely be about to fail or have already been replaced at...

    2012 t4r?

The one small change they should make in 2012 is to go back to the radio antenna in glass and get rid of the whip, they photoshop it out in all the promo pics because it's so godawful.

    lumbar support 'crunching'

The 4th Gen seat issue was more related to the base of the seat rather than the back in fact - quite a few had it - symptoms were more akin to the seat coming loose from the rails

    Aluminum Engine Block

There were problems when manufacturers first started with this technology, in particular Al heads on an Iron-block engine because the different metals expand with heat at different rates, which is where you may have heard of this. But the 4.0L v6 has been trouble free since it's intro and has...

    Those with push button start

My wife has the start button on her Corolla - few things they dont tell you before you get it: If you leave the car in park by accident when you turn off (nothing to warn you since no key to remove and it doesn't bong or anything), it will drain the battery right down overnight. If you have...
