I just went from a 2004 4Runner SR5 to a Taco Sport with Leather. I do miss the 4Runner - it was just such a quite smooth ride compared to the Taco but I need the hauling capacity. Compromises that I really didnt want to make but had to in addition to those stated above - no low washer fluid...

For those in Canada, the 2012 Tacoma's are cheaper than the 2011 model and they have more content in fact - perhaps some hope we might see the gap narrow.

Take your friends dog, apply some scratchx to it's head and buff the car thoroughly with said dog. This will remove the scratch and hopefully reduce the risk of recurrence.

If you do have warped rotors check you don't have a stuck caliper as well - its very common on the fronts in particular and it will warp your new rotors if not fixed - do you have any pulling to one side when braking - that's a giveaway sign of it.

That sucks - I assume you are in Canada so the dealership is likely to take you for $500+ to replace the pads and rotors if they won't warranty it. Were the calipers ok ? (Still wondering if the 4th Gen issues will trickle through to the 5th Gens)

I believe they spring out to the sides in fact - you have seen Chitty chitty bang bang I presume? (It probably means underlit - I believe the 4th Gen ltd had something along those lines.)

I may be wrong but I though the seat warmers in the Limited allow for a variable heat control, whereas the SR5 option package ones are just a hi or lo setting. If somebody could confirm that it may be the reason why the Limited owners above are having no problems and the SR5 owners are less...

If it's a tsb rather than a recall, it will only be applicable to those in warranty or prepared to pay for the fix. I suspect the only shaft I will get from Toyota will be the one they try to give me on my 04 v8 trade in for a new 4Runner or Tacoma.

If you decide on the Jeep I recommend you lease it over 4 years with a warranty to match - I can promise you anything Chrysler built is well past it's prime at that point and most of those fancy gadgets you may be impressed with now will likely be about to fail or have already been replaced at...

The one small change they should make in 2012 is to go back to the radio antenna in glass and get rid of the whip, they photoshop it out in all the promo pics because it's so godawful.
