4th Gen Steering Rack- OEM vs OEM-Reman

Thanks, good to hear. I went with the Toyota Reman. The body does say TOYODA on it, so it does appear to be original Toyota. Install was fun but got it done.

4th Gen Steering Rack- OEM vs OEM-Reman

Hi Everyone. My 08 SR5 4WD (215K) rack is leaking at the input shaft and need to get it done. Ourisman has the best Toyota prices I can find: NEW, no CORE about $1050 shipped REMAN Toyota, about $550 after 2 way shipping and CORE. I called and the Parts guy said REMAN is definitely all...

Rear Axle Leak- 2 part question

New Dorman Axle pics i case anyone is interested Seems identical. Only part not supplied was the top screw/washer that the 2 parking Brake springs attach to. Just moved it over. The Orig has a serrated look to the back of the bearing which I assumed was used by the Antilock/ATRAC. But the new...

Thanks for the feed back I was definitely still leaking after the seal replacement a few weeks ago. Since I had to re-do it I went ahead and got the Dorman replacement from Rock Auto. $400 delivered in 2 days. The retainer on the orig axle had a groove cut into it. See pic. The seal I replace...

Rear Axle Leak- 2 part question

Hi All Just had the rear driver side seal go out on a road trip. Spotted (smelled ) it at the 1st rest stop so parked it and got a rental. But still ended up with 150 miles of slinging gear oil, but actually came out to about a quart lost. I had a spare seal from when the passenger side went a...

    Replace Starter Contacts and Plunger

Confirmed to work 2019 Just had this same issue(2006/V6 with just the Solenoid click) and was able to get the Part Kit from Amazon and replace the contacts/plunger. Of course that top bolt kicked my a$$ for a long time. But once I got it out, this walk through was perfect. Thanks to...

    Moab for beginners?

My son and I went to MOAB in June/July. Shafer Trail is a must. Its right inside Canyonlands NP. Looks crazy but its easy if your brakes dont give out. You are going down if you start in CLNP. At the bottom you have a choice to go back up the way you came, or turn left and take a rough road...

Power Steering Lower Return Hose Leak

Here's what I found out in case anyone else has this issue. The part I posted is NOT the right one. The lower hose I needed is in yellow below. But since it has a bracket (red arrow)to the pressure line, its sold as one piece for $270. You can buy the clamps and screws, but not the return tube...

Power Steering Lower Return Hose Leak

Hi All, Hope someone has done this, couldn't find any hits with search. PS return started leaking. it appears that the hard line is rusted/corroded under the finish. Its bubbled up and only leaks when running right at the bend. My question. Is this the right part? 44406-35021 Lower Return...

Class C vs Class E Tires

I got the 275/70/17 KO2 (E) about 6 months ago. They are nice and quiet. Nice on Hwy. Mileage took a hit. Maybe lost 2 or 3 mpg. I've used them on the rocks and sand Aired down to 15 all week on OBX beach vacation, did great. Tested out the ATRAC on some rocks recently at about 20psi. Good bit...

    Central VA Trails ?.0

Hey Greg Thanks again for joining me on SAT. Had a blast. I finally got to see what the 4th gen and ATRAC can do. Wish we had someone along for camera work. I ended up staying at Flagpole and car camping. Rained a couple times then cleared. It was relaxing. Normal folks stopped by. Temp was 54...
