Tpms is a sensor for the air pressure in all your tires. It should not have anything to do with your emissions. Also if for some strange reason this mod effected the emissions then I think someone would have already posted about it (unless I missed those posts)

Just did this mod on my '07 in under 10min. I followed the OP's instructions and it worked. Just make sure you use pliers and really crank down on the wire connector. I used a blue connector that I picked up at Advace Auto. I had to used a razor knife to make the adjustment to the connecter...
