I didn't read through the entire thread just the first and last page so idk if someone has said this or not but in my 04 i connected the same wires you instructed and I went to start her up and it wouldn't. Not like a dead battery click click click but a im really trying to start but can't chug chug chug chug (sorry my onomotopias are really lacking)
Anyone know a solution?

Thats odd... you sure its the same exact wires? Take some pics.
Also, what happens when you put it back to 'normal' ... does it start then?
Yeah it was the pink/black white/black connected with a blue scotchlock and after it had its little fit I just took it off, separated them, and it started up fine. I was too scared to try again

I really need to read the forum more often. Wife's light has been on for a damn slow leak in the spare forever. I fill it.. it goes low, repeat. She's had it checked 100 times and carries a small compressor in the runner. If the spare ever goes on..I'll fill it and smile.

And.. 4thGen, I'd bet the you grounded the wrong thing somehow. I'll take a look at Alldata tonight to get the position of the wires in the connector if I have time.

When i used a blue scotchlock... it wouldn't work for me.. granted, it still fired up.
I stripped the wire just enough to jump a wire between the two and connect it all up

Az, that is really weird. I'll try to connect the two wires with another wire when I get home from vacation and if that doesn't work I'll just run a ground from the TPMS. If neither of those work I will just rip the LED out of the cluster

Sounds like either the push down piece of the scotchlock isn't cutting in and connecting the two wires..or there's an installer error. Let's go with the scotchlock as being the issue. :tape:
I didn't end up doing the wifes car since it went in for it's normal maintenance. I'm not one to stand in the way of someone else doing the oil change instead of me freezing my fingers off. This garage at the house isn't the same low ceiling (easy to heat by lifting up one hood) garage that I had at the other house. Goobers filled the spare.

I never found the right size scotchlock, it must be very small given how tiny the wires are. I just stripped a little bit of casing, twisted the 2 wires together tightly, and taped. Worked like a charm.

Just did this mod on my '07 in under 10min. I followed the OP's instructions and it worked. Just make sure you use pliers and really crank down on the wire connector. I used a blue connector that I picked up at Advace Auto. I had to used a razor knife to make the adjustment to the connecter (one end was blocked so I cut out the plastic so that the wire could go through just like the other channel).
Once done I wrapped everything up with electrical tape. So far I haven't found any issues.

Thanks for this ! Awesome to rid of the annoying light! If anyone from Cali/Nevada etc with smog inspection knows if this mod may show up in a test please let me know! Moving to Nevada soon so just want to be prepared. Also I now hear a double click from the tpms module area when I turn the ignition on, I can't for the life of me figure out if that was always there or not, I only noticed it after this. Lol.
I just bought a used 05 Sport and the TPMS light was on. After checking the pressure in all 5 tires it was still on, so I followed the OP directions and took care of the problem. 10 minutes start to finish.
Next up is replacing the LED bulbs in the multi-display.

While TPMS has nothing to do with emissions, most states with an inspection won't pass you if you have any warning lights but on the dash. Certainly that is the case for Vermont.
