Toyota Tech forgets to put oil in a 14 T4R for 20k service!

Whatever happens, don't get pissed and be a d!ck. That makes absolutely nothing better. This sounds like an honest mistake a kid made while learning a trade and he'll keep this lesson with him forever. Take the free service and be understanding and they'll be much more likely to take care of...

    Texas 4Runner owners

Hey y'all, I highly recommend joining this group if you're an avid overlander and outdoors fan. It's group run by my brother, myself, and another friend consisting mostly of Toyotas and friendly Jeep banter. We have a small run to BBSR planned in mid-October but later in the year we'll be...

    Chim's 99

Great build so far! Looks like you've done some good research already and made great decisions on your to-do list. Really looking forward to seeing how this progresses. I can't believe how clean it is!

    SPOTTED Thread

Yep. Last time I saw his rig it had a busted ring & pinion at 2014 Jamboree. Hope that doesn't happen again this year!

    Good/Bad Idea

Coming from the comfort and power of the 04 V8, you will be really disappointed by a 3rd Gen. Make no mistake, I LOVE my beat up 3rd Gen and wouldn't trade it for anything. But there again, I've never had a newer, more luxurious vehicle so I've never had to deal with stepping down in...

    2015 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree

Also worth mentioning that a lot of drivers/groups are adamant about requiring CB radios to wheel with them. I thought it was a bit pretentious at first but after several wheeling trips and having my CB for well over 6 months, I totally understand. This will be my second Jambo and can't wait as...

Front diff drop needed for 3" OME lift kit?

I personally have the Toytec diff drop and only mildly wheel, although wheeling in central Texas is a lot of rock and a lot of articulation. I have torn two boots in two years and would rather be safe than sorry. I'm not overly vocal either way and ultimately it's up to you. For as cheap as...

Another 3rd gen lift option thread.

I'm sure you've probably heard this but it depends what you're lifting for. The Toytec Ultimate is tried and true for more wheeling-focused rigs, Tundra TRDs for the daily driver/occasional weekend wheeler (I could be wrong, of course). $400 is a pretty significant difference to me and in my...

    Bought another 4runner today

Man! Nice find. Makes me jealous because 4Rs with that mileage simply don't exist in Texas these days.

    Fairly New 4runner owner concerns

Depending on how much lift you've got I would strongly consider a front diff drop. It will at least ease the CVs into a gentler angle and help them last longer. Otherwise get used to noises and plastic sounds; your's ain't the first and won't be the last to do that.

    Dreaded P0420 code!

With the amount of money you're going to throw at a multitude of variables to make the code disappear, you might as well just replace the cat with an aftermarket. I replaced mine with an aftermarket in November 2012 from a trusted local muffler shop and have put almost 40K on it, never had an...
