so I should remove the amp, order a plug for the jvc and then connect? I have no sound when I touch the wires to a separate working speaker now (just scratching noises) and the only connections I made for the jvc are with the power, ignition and front speakers. How do I check the jvc is ok...

I stupidly followed the jvc instructions and cut out the wire harness which is NOT the same dual one as shown on installdr.com. Mine was a single. And yes; I certainly know about wiring harnesses but I live in Alaska and am not connected by road to anywhere. Ordering even small items...
