I soaked mine in oil and it still did not budge. Cutting with the dremel was my only option. Be careful not to mess up the threads.

Has anyone ever applied a blackout graphic to the hood of their 4th generation 4Runner? This is often found on Land Rover Discoveries and I believe it comes stock on the Trail Teams FJ. The purpose of the hood blackout is to cut the glare off the hood from rack mounted lights. Thanks-

you'll have to powerwash and try to scrub off all the loose stuff prior to painting. I have had great luck with spray on bedliner for the underside of my truck. I've heard good things about POR, but I have not used it.

what about looking into an engine warmer/block heater? That would get things all heated up prior to your morning drive. It may cost more on the electricity bill, but the 4Runner will thank you.
