Hate to resurrect an old thread from the dead, but didn't want to start a brand new one when my situation is similar to the one in this thread. Earlier this winter, came out to start our 4Runner and immediately hear and feel a clunk, a thunk and a clang, then a vibration through the steering...

Ooops! I actually contacted EBC directly and found out from the source. On the front and back pads, none of the old OEM shims are to be used. They also don't recommend any brake grease on the back of the pads, but I lubed up the pistons anyway. So far so good.

Black centers. BTW...did you PC or paint those wheels. I have a set of FJ's on mine and was toying with the idea of painting/PC'ing them flat black.

I am installing a set of EBC USR slotted rotors and Greenstuff pads on my '07 SR5. When I took out the old pads, the fronts had two shims per pad...A slotted one that was on the back of the pad and then another solid shim that contacts the pistons. The EBC pads already have a solid backing...

Cool...I'll call the dealership and see if he still works there. Do you know what you paid for the warranty? I think I remember that there were a couple different levels of coverage. PM me if you don't want to post it on the forum. Thanks again!

Our '07 just rolled over 30k this weekend and I wanted to start shopping warranties. I remember seeing a post about a salesman on the board offering some pretty good deals on the Toyota extended warranty. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find it. Anyone know about this or maybe point...

Nope...sorry. The buyer picked up the wheels an hour ago.

Yeah...check out Discount. I had a set of well-used Kuhmos and they gave me credit for all of them. Plus, lifetime roadhazards and free rotations/balancing for life.

I can't speak for Falls, but I was refering to the Daystar spacer that goes in between the spring and the upper shock tower. They come in various thicknesses and materials. Some are used in conjunction with a rear lift and others are just used to level out the front of the 4th Gens.

Thanks. I've always been partial to the Galactic Gray but living in PHX, my wife wanted a lighter color so we went with the Silver. I like the FJ wheels alright...I haven't seen any on a 4Runner in my area so mine sticks out a little. A dealership in Tuscon had these as take-off's for $250...

I think the spacer would. It only rubbed in one specific situation...reverse. It would always rub when backing out of our driveway and then again in certain reverse situations. Other than that, it was fine. Lock to lock turns I think were also rub free I believe. So with the 70 series...
