With ADD, the front axles and CV's are always engaged while driving, even in 2WD, creating drag on the drivetrain and loss in mpg. A manual hub will allow you to disengage and freewheel with no drag.

It is possible to do this mod and it seems logical that you would save gas mileage. Most people do this in order to install a taller lift (above 3") to prevent the CV's from grenading at highway speeds or to install a front locker. Here's a co. that sells the whole kit...

Right on.Sell the spacers and buy coils and shocks.

PP springs should fit,but you should invest in a diff. drop spacer with that much lift.For the rear, I would look into an adjustable trac/panhard bar.

99's were the tallest riding 3rd gens.You would probably gain 1" to 1.5" on a non-sagging stock 2000.

All 3rd gens use rear coils.

Have your friend check about a recall on the springs.I had a '98 a few years ago that didn't sag at all,however there was a recall on the rear springs.After mine were replaced I gained at least an inch.I think it was more of a safety issue.Have the dealer run VIN to see if they were ever replaced.
