Never heard of a thermistor. Thanks. I'll certainly check it out.

The a.c. cuts out only 5% of the time

My mechanic said it wasn't low and didn't have a leak. I will go for a second opinion. He has saved me a lot of cash in the past but I think he isn't that familiar with 4Runners a.c.'s. The Toyota dealer in my city does not have a great reputation. I have a few leads for import car garages. Keep...

The a.c. cuts out only 5% of the time

2003 The a.c. cuts out only 1/5 the time I have a 2003 Sport V6. I purchased in the early winter. The a.c. blows ice cold for 15-20 seconds, then blows regular air about 4-5 seconds. The cycle repeats. No warning lights. I switched the magnetic clutch relay with the fog relay. No noticeable...

Are 4th Generation V8's worth the risk 4 Manifold Issues?

My 04 got to the point where even after warm up it wouldn't pass inspection in PA. Calibers are my biggest expense by far for continuing to run the 4Runner. I will switch to 5th gen calibers next time my calipers go bad. I've been reading on the brake issues. Some say to contantly keep the...

Are 4th Generation V8's worth the risk 4 Manifold Issues?

Thanks for the tip. I'm a bit green with 4X4's, never owned one. Had a Sub AWD. Technically, is it advantageous to have a V8 in the bush because it has more torque? (for the serious stuff maybe?) I think I am replying the right way, in this case to Nivlak? ( or anyone else that sees this)

Are 4th Generation V8's worth the risk 4 Manifold Issues?

Nice to see some positive feedback. Kind of been reading a bit too much on the "problems" and "issues" lately. It can all balance out sometimes. No small issues and sometimes a whamo that should not have happened. Each company gets it. Thanks for the advice.

Thank Bonyfattony. I had not seen anyone showing a substitute. Will save this post.

Are 4th Generation V8's worth the risk 4 Manifold Issues?

I'm in Ontario, and V6's are sold fast or for some other reason, are scarce. Maybe the owners are holding on to them or in the summer more people want to buy them. The majority of the 4th Generation on Auto Trader are V8's. At least the older models. I would bo OK paying more for the gas for a...

Why so many selling their V-8 LTD in Canada?

I'm not sure, but I think that the V-8 in the U.S. has the option for rear air suspension. Did you have air at the back?

Why so many selling their V-8 LTD in Canada?

I'm new here. Hello everyone! Sold my Subaru and I've been reading a lot on the 4th Gen.4Runner. I need leather interior. Wife is allergic to something in foam. I don't mind paying extra for gas. From what I've read, there are less H.P. in the V-8 but better torque to tow. I'm in Canada...
