    The End

Well the reality is a 3rd gen 4runner is worth squat from a fair market/blue book standpoint, so that is likely what he will get. They only way the OP is going to get much more is if he was paying for a special coverage for a vintage or other special vehicle. I guess he might be able to complain...

New steering rack, tons of movement

I'm not aware there is an official way. I assume that if you put it on jacks and then use a screwdriver or something similar to pry on it and try to move it and assuming it doesn't have noticeable slack or move very easily, it should be fine. Since its new, I can't believe there would be a...

New steering rack, tons of movement

When brand new, these vehicles didn't wander or bump steer, so Its almost guaranteed its more than just your steering bushings. Most likely your control arm bushings are trashed. People turn the steering when parked and think its a big issue when their steering rack moves some, but that is...

    forbidden ?

Why have they not fixed this yet?

    Alignment Woes

Not sure about the feeling of being loser, but sounds like they didn't do a good job and properly align your steering wheel. That is different than it pulling to the side. A car can drive perfectly straight and have the steering wheel angled off center. I suggest you take it back and tell them...

    2000 5spd JShifter 4wd not engaging

In addition to the transfer case shifting into 4wd, the front differential needs to engage and its the vacuum controlled ADD that does that. I would guess its the 4wd switch on the transfer case that is bad since that tells the ADD to engage the differential and the 4wd light won't come on...

The 3rd Gen All Questions Allowed Thread

Are you sure you gave it enough time to dry out? I did that one time washing my 4runner and I was getting a bunch of misfires and had to unplug the spark plugs and leave it for a day or two that way to allow the water to actually dry out.

    amayama.com - for reals???

I ordered from them twice recently. Once right after the initial tarrifs and had to pay UPS, then a month or two after, where I assume it was included in the original cost since I didn't pay anything to UPS. Both times it was still a fair amount cheaper than anywhere else.

Cabin air filter in 3rd gens?

Interesting. If you purchase one, let us know how it works and what material you use for the filter part.

The 3rd Gen All Questions Allowed Thread

Looks like the parts that bolt on need replaced, and one or two of the tabs on the side is bent, but should be able to be bent back with a little heat from a welding torch. Is the rest of it straight?

Suspension Question and Reputable Toyota Parts Dealers

I just ordered from them and had to pay a tarriff. It was 15% and paid directly to UPS, so add that into the total price of the order.

on-road comfort lacking - considering switching platforms

Are the wildpeaks load range E, C, or SL, or something else? In my experience, if you go to most tires shops and don't specifically ask for a load range, they will often put load range E tires on a 4runner like this since that is what they have in stock at the moment. Load range E is more common...

on-road comfort lacking - considering switching platforms

What load range are your tires and what pressure are you running? That can have a big impact on your ride as well.

    Seats....

Have you considered swapping over the cushion and overs from a passenger seat to the drivers seat? That is what I did with mine. The passenger seat was in decent condition, so I bought another passenger seat that was in good condition and swapped over everything to the driver seat
