    Clutch mounting bracket

I guess my real worry here now that I know I can find a replacement part is that if I go pick-and-pull a part from a junker somewhere that the mounting bracket is going to be sub-par (old/worn down) and not worth the savings as opposed to buying new part.

    Clutch mounting bracket

The mounting bracket for my clutch in my '91 T4R v6 4WD broke about a year ago. The shop I took it to advised at that time that the part was on back order from the local Toyota dealership and that instead of waiting upwards of another month (my truck was already there for a month waiting), that...

Rear window and wiper not working

I have a '91 4runner (v6, 4wd). I live in the south and have recently been dealing with some major rain in my area. After driving through the most recent storm, my rear window will no longer roll up or down, not when I use the key or try the button on the center console (although the center...

    Part manufacturer quality differences

To date, I have been purchasing most of my parts via my local AutoZone or, if necessary, the dealership. I know there are other sites out there that offer different options when it comes to sourcing needed parts, so I'd like to get a feel from the community for which brands (Aisin, Dorman, etc)...

    Clutch grinding and difficulty shifting

I'll be messing with rod and height adjustments again this afternoon, but assuming this doesnt fix the problem I'll move on to replacing the master and slave next (might as well just do both at once, right?). Recommendations of where to get better parts that what you get through AutoZone?

    Clutch grinding and difficulty shifting

Assuming this is the post that you are referring to? http://www.toyota-4runner.org/classic-t4rs/6279-grinding-into-reverse.html I saw that you wrote the following (see my answers in red): First things first, where's the pedal grabbing when you take off? Barely off the floor? Almost at the end...

    Clutch grinding and difficulty shifting

The clutch has been an ongoing problem for me on my '91 T4R V6 over the last few years. Thought I solved the problem a few times now but it keeps resurfacing. Current issue: shifting into reverse is difficult and there is almost always grinding sound as I get it to finally pop into gear...

    Power issues, possible alternator problems?

A neighbor with a little know-how helped me to tighten the belt better than I could and all works wonderfully now. Thanks to everyone for the help.

    Power issues, possible alternator problems?

Had the alternator tested and sure enough came back as bad. Put in new alternator and the truck fired right up. Only now, there is a squealing noise when its running. Could this be a symptom of the belt being too loose or tight? Also, I just started it and let it run idle for a few minutes to...

    Power issues, possible alternator problems?

Have just now gotten around to looking into this. This one is a V6. It wouldn't start on its own but the battery seemed fully charged as all lights, headlights, radio, etc. were working. Jumped it successfully and tested voltage with a multi-meter before and after and it was hovering just below...
