    Sagging Rear

Good call! I ended up going with Old Man Emu springs in the rear (mediums with no spacers). They lifted the rear a total of 2-3/4 inches, giving the vehicle a hint of a forward leaning rake without looking foolish. More importantly, the new springs have eliminated the "bottoming out" while...

    Sagging Rear

My story is almost identical to yours. I had Bilstein 5100's installed 15 months ago on the front and rear of my 2012 SR5. Also installed BF Goodrich TAK02 tires (LT285/70R17) and new wheels. Spacers were installed in the front to level the vehicle and make space for the new tires. Now the rear...

So they said. I didn't actually see the guy or interview him.

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

The Rest of the Story... I used the right words and approached the problem like a professional. Shop Management responded in kind. The store manager acknowledged that mistakes were made and offered to fix them at no charge. We discussed various options and this is how the story ended: They...

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

I have contacted Mgmt at the shop where this installation was performed. They've agreed that I should have been notified before any cutting was done. They did not dispute that the wrong wheels were installed which led to a chain of poor choices in equipment and procedures. They expressed a...

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

This is what was on the vehicle: TRD 17x7.5 wheels with the stupid "bling rings"* I still have all 4 of them. Did some cleaning and measuring today: I would be just fine with painting these myself, plugging the bling ring holes, and putting my new BFG TA KO2's on them (285 70R17)...

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

They used G2 brand aluminum spacers. It's true the 4 Wheel Parts website displays conflicting answers from company reps stating these spacers ARE and ARE NOT hubcentric. The salesman assured me they're safe but I now realize that assurance means nothing. What's the story on these spacers?

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

I am upset at both parties now. I was aware (from reading this forum) that 285's should fit and definitely would not have signed off on removing metal had I known they were going to do it beforehand. The mistake I made was assuming this shop, because of its popularity and reviews, would...

Is This Safe? Installer Did a Surprise Body Mount Chop on 2012 SR5

I wasn't too thrilled either. I told them I wanted some simple, steel wheels in this style that would work with my vehicle. That was weeks ago when I made the arrangements and paid half up front. They ordered all the parts and scheduled me for the install. I took the vehicle in at 0900 and...

    Service Manual

+1! I have a 2012 SR5 and I'm having no luck with locating ANY type of repair or service manual. The Haynes & Chilton manuals for the 4Runner stop at 2009. The manuals at Helm Branded Merchandise, Fulfillment & Marketing Services are limited to the wiring diagram and the standard owner's...

Advice Requested: I Don't Want These TRD Wheels on my 2012 4Runner

I appreciate the advice and insight everyone has offered. I hadn’t thought of the FJ wheels or what others in the FJ community might doing about the “bling ring.” Antman and jrandom are right…the wheels would look better on better tires. This current setup looks like a drag queen with a 5...
