Yeah pretty simple. I've done it before. Problem is it's August in the South east so hot and humid as hell for a couple more weeks.
May wait till a little cooler weather.
So I changed front/rear/t-case oil on my 2016 4Runner @ 20K miles. She's at 60K miles now. I changed out the rear diff fluid today, Using Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W90 Gear oil again.
Do I need to change the front out as well? I don't get to use 4X4 nearly as much as I'd like.
thanks
Does any one have a nautical blue 5th gen with the bronze FN FX Pro wheels? Or any other bronze wheels
I’m thinking about going with this setup and need to visualize it better.
Thanks
So after changing all my fluids the only issue I had was that the first 3 or 4 times I shifted into and out of 4LO it made a clunk. But now it’s buttery smooth.
Same here. My 2016 had 21K miles when I did mine this weekend. Transfer case looked ok, but front and rear were definitely dark, and metal paste on the diff magnets
Not today, but over the weekend I changed out the oil in the front and rear diffs and transfer case. Put Mobil 1 75W90 in it. Not a bad job, the front sucks because of the skid.
I also installed my Lifetime led H11 bulbs. Makes a great difference. Mine came from the dealer with LED foglights...
Ouch I feel for you. Here in SC it's about $2.15/gal right not. That being said I do commute 60 miles a day to work now. Racked up 21K miles first year of owning my 4Runner. That being said I looked into getting something more fuel efficient, but I wouldn't be happy with it, plus the 4Runner...
So, read through this thread, and have read other threads. Isn't 75W90 gear oil safe for our transfer case? I picked up 7 quarts of Mobil 1 75W90 LS, have the crush washers and was going to try and do my front/rear/t-case this weekend or next. I have 21K miles on my 2016 that I got last...
Yup. I've noticed that mine doesn't do too bad below about 70MPH. But on long interstate trips where average is closer to 80 MPH just to keep up with traffic the MPG really suffer. Aerodynamics are a *****.
Similarly if i take a highway trip where average is around 60 MPH i've average over 20...
