SSO Hybrid Bumper + Warn M8000 winch install

Hey all Thought I would share some details on the SSO Hybrid install with Warn M8000. Overall the bumper fit very well and was easy to cut/install the plastic off the stock bumper to make it fit. A friend more capable than I was required =). Removing the bumper was pretty simple and we just...

RATS! source for the OEM Toyota soy wires? Want to run a rat-proofing test.

I got damaged three times. Twice in the 4r engine harness (2016) and once in a jeep grand cherokee air duct/cabine filter in about a 6-8 month time span Solution - Hood open about 3-4 inches. I found a plastic container 4" high to crack it a bit but not full open - rat repellant on the under...

    Simple Storage Solution - None

Not sure where I'd fit in one of those heavy and space robbing storage systems. They look cool and I'd like to have one, but we just pack too much stuff. Look closely and there are bags on the roof rack too! This is the return of a 10 day trip staying in an AirBnB. So I just had to get the...

    Squirrel Issues?

For rats, I've had engine wires eaten twice in 6 months. What did the trick was leaving the hood open slightly and trapping. Talk to any exterminator. The sonic devices with or without a flashing light only work temporarily. Mothballs didn't work on another vehicle either.

    Squirrel Issues?

Squirrels do this crap as well? I thought it was only rats/mice. For a rat leave the hood open. Sounds like a squirrel would thank you for making it easier. Some insurance carriers will cover animal damage, some will not. So check. Do that first before you tamper with the evidence. If you...

TOTAL CHAOS - Chromoly Adjustable Rear Links

Novice mechanics question- The shop that installed my set of these didn't do the modification to the bracket on the lowers so I can get at the zirc fitting. So I'm going to need to drop the arm to grease it and then modify the bracket per the install instructions. What is the "Safe" and easy...

Which armor first! (Based on likely impacts)

Front skid for sure. Since I have icon rebuild-able rear shocks I sprung for the shock piston guard. When I went to rebuild the shocks I was impressed with how much pitting was on the guards and was glad even 1/4 of that didn't hit the piston. Granted much of the guard is protecting the lower...

When is a winch a good investment? and what other mods are useful?

I'd agree on the hybrid. Keeps the looks I like about the 4runner and probably (though I don't really know) keeps a good bit of the aerodynamics and less of a wind drag

When is a winch a good investment? and what other mods are useful?

The Winch is desirable for you if you are in snow and potentially mud and by yourself. Especially in a forested area where there are a lot of hook up points. Just get a tree saver with it. You may not use it for years but as Opie! said above, you need it once and it's paid for itself. PLUS it's...

    Which 285/70/17 balance the best

Have any of you tried weight beads inside the tires vs tire weights? I've done okay on my BFG KO2 all terrains rated E 285/70/R17. I beat the ever loving hell out of them in the rocky desert south west. It wasn't until I allowed the shop to rotate in the new spare with 3 older ones that I had...

ARB Twin Air Compressor and Thermal Cut off in the Desert

I try not to at that temp, it's no fun really. however broken arrow is stupidly close to gas stations and an out of town guest really wanted to. It's that hot about 3-4 months out of the year.
