The '85 I shipped was a big pain b.c it was lifted on big tires so it wouldn't fit on a normal rig. It had to be a hotshot type rig and therefore more expensive-around $1200. It was just a big hassle to line it up b/c they couldn't give an exact time of pickup or arrival. Basically it rode...
Well, I don't fly and unfortunately have no time to drive it back. I have shipped my '85 from El Centro and that was such a pain that I don't think I'll ever do that again. Very nice rig though. I'd love to have it. I'd sell my '96 for that.
I currently have a 2000 Suburban 2500 for towing duties, but with the way that 4th gen prices have come down, I am thinking about one for towing/light trail duty. (Currently have a similar post on 100 series cruisers on mud)
I would of course want to modify the 4th gen with 33's or 35's...

Quit making the Excursion in '05, but the great thing about them is the 7.3 turbodiesel that came from '00 through early '03. With a little aftermarket electrical goodies you have tons of power and will get 18mpg towing 6500 pounds at 75mph! They guy I ride with most of the time has one and...
Sorry, I didn't mean to refer to it as "old", I really meant just my previous popup. It just didn't make sense for me to keep the '99, I wanted a true beater trail rig and I have the Tacoma for work and really anything else except heavy towing. So I sold the '99, a 4th gen 4Runner is really...
Hey Peter, still enjoying my old popup?
I just can't enough of 4Runners as you can see. The 4.0 V6 in the new 4Runners is very strong-a huge difference over the 3.4 V6. I have towed about 6500 pounds with my '07 Tacoma and had plenty of power. I posted up this thread and a couple of others...
V6 fourth gens-who tows what?
Post up what you have towed with your V6 fourth gen 4Runner. Please include weight, distance, terrain, gas mileage, speed, etc. Pics are always good too.
Thanks!
