So, out in Leadville Colorado last week I got my 012 SR5 stuck by pulling off a snow covered road shoulder dropping the drivers side wheels off the hard pack. ATRAC tried its best but no go, it was high centered on the snow. Common mistake, got pulled out by a Tacoma within twenty minutes. Bt...

Not sure what it would be like now,but when I did the drive three times twenty years ago you couldn't tell what color my truck was when finished. It was mud covered everywhere but the windshield wiper sweep. That said that stuff in the rear carrier will likely get pretty nasty exposed like that...

Forgot to add, in the states the SR5 has body colored wheel well moldings. I think, the trail is the only one with black.

We have an 012 w premium (upgrade). It fit our needs and wants better than the Limited. I can't comment on the drive/experience as I've never driven the limited. I preferred the 17" wheels and wanted the Leather,SR,heated seats, third row etc. plus we got 5k off the MRSP which sealed the deal.

I get a squish noise at the pedal. Annoying more than anything.

I've done both of those. I think you could go the west route up through Vancouver and then go east at Prince George to avoid the Cassiar, which was always the sporty way (rugged) The east route was the paved way, could be done in a corvette.

You should be fine bone stock. Even on the Cassiar hwy. I drove it both ways three times twenty years ago in a stock Isuzu Trooper without issues. You can drive it mostly paved if you stay on the actual Alcan and go up thru banff, jasper then over. The Cassiar is way more fun, at least it was...

dimmer By media center you mean the touch-screen/nav/audio screen go to set-up>display>daylight. This will lock the screen into daylight mode even when the lights are on. All of the other dashlights work off the scroll wheel to the left of the steering wheel. This was bothering me as well...

Quick temp fix Shrink wrap & zip ties work great as a temporary fix for ball joints and CV boots. I fixed a rear CV boot on a BMW this way and it lasted for years.
