    New BABY

Hey guys Well it's been awhile, my beloved '87 4runner was stolen almost 3 years ago and I never thought I would replace it.... but an '86 came along and needed a new home, so long story short: It's an '86, 5 speed, power everything, sunroof, cruise control, AC. It's everything I've wanted...

    Stolen 87 4runner

Well, I never thought I would be sitting here typing this, but my 1987 toyota 4runner SR5 got stolen last night. Just had the 22re rebuilt, had installed '95 leather seats, and had a nice sound system in it. Guess I should've considered an alarm or killswitch too. I'm in Sacramento visiting, so...

    Fried alternator

I ventured up into the mountains a few weekends ago and couldn't pass up the only mud puddle I came across. In the deepest part, it came up to the top of my 31 inch tires. I went through it with no problems, but covered my engine with mud in doing so. My alternator lights came on about 10...

    I need diffrent seats....

It's really easy to fix the sliding part, just take a coat hanger and cut it so it's long enough to hook into both locking mechanisms. EDIT: That will fix the driver's side seat, the passenger seat needs a special part. I'd recommend putting 2nd gen seats in, you just have to drill new holes...

what do yall think of this nice 1st gen?

Price is a bit high for that many miles, but cosmetically it looks great. Even the seats look fantastic! You will hate that automatic tranny though, mine was terrible. And the light below the cigarette lighter isn't a switch, it's the overdrive light indicator for the automatic transmission.

What seats will fit in my 87?

put '93 4runner bucket seats in mine, you have to drill new holes for the 2 back bolts on the passenger side only, but they work nicely, and are much more comfortable (:

    Considering tranny swap

So my torque converter on my 4runner (22re, auto) needs to be replaced, and I've been itching to do an auto to manual swap in it since I bought it, but since it's my only 4wd vehicle and it's winter time in the great northwest, I was wondering what you guys though about the difficulty/amount of...

    Radiator Advice

I might be a day late, but I JUST (today) got my radiator from radiatorbarn.com and I highly recommend it. It's a 3 row metal radiator and it was only 150$, got here in 2 business days. Hope you get a good one!

    Favorite year for 3rd gens?

I searched for a similar poll thread, but didn't find one. Thanks for the input all of you... I'm leaning more towards the 01-02 so I'll have to wait until the right one pops up.

    Favorite year for 3rd gens?

I'm considering purchasing a 3rd gen 4runner and was wondering what year was preferred. I've researched the difference from year to year as far as options go, but wanted some personal feedback on these too. Being the frustrated owner of a neglected 22re, I'm ready for something with a bit more...

Water in engine? Car wash accident

This is where your distributor cap is on a 22re, although yours might be black or brown. It's the thing that all of your spark plug wires plug into. Remove the two screws holding it in place and it should come right off.

    Wiring help!

Well, I finally figured it out. The previous owner had wedged a spade shaped connector into the ignition fuse and run an ACC wire to the radio, bending the brackets outward, so the fuse itself was fine, but it didn't snap in correctly because of the bend. I simply had to bend the fuse brackets...

    Wiring help!

Thanks for the reply... I did this and got nothing. When I hooked my radio back up to the stock harness, I heard a very subtle tick when I connected the battery wire, so I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. My fan won't turn on either, so it must be something affecting all of these...

    Wiring help!

So i've got an 87 4runner SR5 that I decided to clean up the wiring on. The previous owner ran a seperate ACC and power wire. (as opposed to using the stock harness ones) The power wire was run to the fusebox by the battery and spliced into the horn fuse, so I yanked it and wired my radio back...
