i ended up going to another place and had no issue. I was just shocked that such a mild lift would cause an issue with the inspector.

thanks for the links. I've seen a few of them before and most talk about measuring from the bumper which was how i thought it should be done. The inspector wouldn't tell me what the reference point was that he used. I just saw him measure from the top of the wheel well to the ground.

Those are the same wheels on my short list. Double check the backspacing on the classic2s. I thought they were 5. I think a bunch of the fj member run level8 wheels.
