I ended up just giving up and cut a chunk out of the pulley with a torch to get to the retention bolt. Once I got the pump out, the nut cam of with a shot from the impact. The pulley is pressed on to the shaft. The whole thing was a joy.

I need to replace my power steering pump, but have tried to no avail to remove the pulley from the old pump. I have tried to heat up the nut and am using an 18" cheater bar, but it won't budge. I finally ended up striping a little off of the nut. Any tricks to this? Ive never had a pulley give...

I haven't taken any pics of the one I picked up yesterday, but it's identical to the one I used to have. It's a '92 5spd 4x4. Here's the last one.
