jacal,
If you are referring to the head unit not recognizing the icelink about 50% of the time when you first start the 4R, this is a common issue. Other people have the same problem. I contacted Dension support and was told to wait for a firmware update. Was told it would be out in Jan but...
Wahooooo!!!
Jacal! You're my hero! :awais:
Re-cranking the engine does work to recognize the icelink. You can even do it while driving. That's a hell of a lot better than pulling over on the side of the road, shutting of the engine and starting it again.
Now it we can just get a firmware...
The first 5 playlists are easily accessable as CDs 1 thru 5 through the buttons on the head unit or the steering wheel controls. The 6th CD takes you to the icelink setup menu.
You can also change the icelink mode so that it can be controlled thru the ipod's standard interface. Whatever...

Thanks for the suggestion ToyotaDan, but unfortunately that didn't work. I did however come up with a similar method that seems to work most of the time. Before turning off the ignition, I switch to FM. After starting the ignition, I wait a few seconds and then switch back to CD1 (changer...
Installed the Icelink but have a couple problems.
- Text display always shows the Artist from the first song played. Title advances but not the Artist.
- The icelink goes bezurk when I start the vehicle. It seems to start and stop the ipod 3 times in a mater of about 3 seconds. That's not...
Installation
Ok, the Icelink has arrived. But no installation manual. No installation manual on the Dension web site either :( Would appreciate any insights on what connects to what before I rip my dash apart. Here is what I know and what I don't.
A - connects to the iPod.
B - connects to...
Oh ya. These blue tinted blind spot mirrors are great. Much clearer than the regular blind spot mirrors. Picked up the pair at Canadian Tire for about $4.
