Mechanical Grind/Crunch sound at full turn?

Possibly a wheel bearing? I had a similar issue with my 2007, althugh the steering wheel did not have to be turned "all the way". In my case, the noise happened when turning left, and it turned out to be the front, passanger-side wheel bearing. You might want to have your wheel bearings checked...

    2007 Sport V6 Transmission Issues?

Thanks for the replies so far. So, does that mean the hill assist system comes also in automatic transmissions (apparently I was not clear mine is an AT)? Hmmm... I thught they would install such systems on manual shifts only due to the clutch engaging (or dis- ) issue on steep hills from stand...

    2007 Sport V6 Transmission Issues?

Hi Guys - I have been happily driving my 4Runner for the last two years. Except for this issue (read below) that has been there all the time. So finally I have decided to do something about it to get it fixed. THE ISSUE: As I stop (going on D) on my uphill driveway - something I have to do...

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Bacon, you're right. They f***ed-up (or, more accurately, they did ---- me :-) This shop used to be good. I have known the owner for a long time as he always did the repairs on my previous cars (old Porsches and BMW's - they started their business almost exclusively on German cars). However, he...

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

The factory warranty covers bumper-to-bumper for 3y/36K, and power train for 5y/60K. So, at least for power train, you definitely are still under warranty:wink2:. [and, by the way, a BIG thank you to BassMeisterNJ for the pointer. It sure saved me the cash. It feels great that, for a change...

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Problem Solved... Hi Guys - Happy to report that the problem with the annoying humming noise while turning left at highway speeds has been solved. It was indeed a wheel bearing. Specifically, it was the front one on the passenger side. I got quotes from a number of indy shops here in Austin...

Wheel Bearing Assy... Hi BassMiesterNJ - Wow. Right on! Was there anything unusual that made the bearing fail in your opinion? Were both sides done? What was the charge for the job, if you do not mind my asking? (just to have a basis of comparison...) Thank you!

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Wheel Bearing... Hi Dave - Your comment bears high relevance, particularly if it happened to you at 59K. Definitely, the wheel bearing possibility cannot be ruled out. One of the local shops quoted me about $420 for one side only. Was your quote at the dealer for both sides? Thank you.

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Located in (not so) sunny Austin, TX... Hi Scott - Thanks for the reply. I am located in Austin, TX. And yes, I would greatly appreciate somebody pointing me to a good shop that specializes in precision frame alignments. I never got to see the Carfax even though the dealer (reputable Nissan...

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Wheel Balance... No. They did not. Even though there was a tire rotation done, and one would expect that the vibration would have changed positions/behavior if it were due to incorrect balancing, your suggestion is definitely in my list of things to do next, just in case... Thanks, Ray.

New Owner (2007 Sport) - Need Help!

Hi Guys - I just got a 2007 Sport with 52K miles on the clock, and for the most part I love it. However, there is this REALLY annoying, and seemingly getting stronger, humming noise coming from the front axel - and which can be felt also in the steering wheel - whenever I take a left turn curve...
