    Water repellent coating

Hitman, I got the windshield coating info from the pdf that's in the forum thread '4Runner 101...'. http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/htruong/2003_4Runner.pdf Plus if you do a search on google with 'Toyota 4Runner hydrophilic glass', there will be a lot of reviews mentioning this coating on mirrors...

    Water repellent coating

So the followup questions are 1. Does everyone else on the board have their coated glass intact - meaning am I the only one to do the damage? 2. Does the factory coating really work? I never got the opportunity to see it in action.

    Water repellent coating

So looks like I've destroyed the water repellent coating on my 4R windshield and mirrors. Toyota very intelligently warns on the 1000th page of the manual not to use glass cleaners or water repellers. I drove it back in the rain from the dealership, the night I picked it up about a month ago...

    Clinking noise when shifting??

Had it looked at by another dealership today - even they say it's normal, everything is to spec. But I'm still startling people around when I pull out of the parking spot and shift into D - the loud creaking noise makes everyone look. This is strange that a manufacturer would call a noise like...

    Clinking noise when shifting??

I have a 3 week old '04 4R. Two weeks ago I started noticing the loud creaking noise when shifting from reverse to D and vice versa. Also, in stop and go traffic the brakes were making creaking noises too. It almost disappears after the vehicle has been driven for a while. Took it to the...

iPOD, XM, Video, & Bluetooth on factory NAV

What CD changer did you use with the NAV? I have a week old '04 Runner with NAV and the dealer hasn't been able to get the Toyota OEM changer (which is Panasonic I believe) to work with the Nav. I see you have an '03 with Nav+changer. Is yours FM modulated or integrated with Nav?

    Thanks from new owner

Toyota CD changer doesn't work with NAV The dealer installed it in the console where it fit nice, but then they could not get the audio controls on the Nav screen to recognize the changer. They called Toyota tech and were told the changer and Nav won't work together. The dealer tried sending it...

    Thanks from new owner

How did you know?! Yes, the original ones were Dunlops and the new ones are Bridgestones - noticed it this evening when I looked at the warranty papers (Dunlop) and checked tires. The CD changer - it arrived at the dealership today, getting it installed in the console on Sat. Was told it's a...

    Thanks from new owner

I've been reading this board for more than a year. Based largely on my recommendation and information on this board, a friend had bought a 03 V6 LTD which I've also enjoyed driving frequently. This Monday I went to the dealership to look for one with nav, couldn't wait till Nov for 05. Turned...

The dreaded rattles...do they come back?

A friend of mine bought a 4R on my recommendation and research - tremendous help from this board too! The sunroof rattle appeared after 3 weeks - lived with it for a few months and started to drive him crazy. Rattled when open, over bumps and just anytime. He'd decided to get the TSB done and...
