Put a new cap on (13lbs) but it overheats when I use the heater.. There is a bad gurgling noise when I accelerate, but only when I have the heat on. Also overheats in stop and go traffic, again only when the heat is on. And when I stop the car and let it cool down the fill the coolant reservoir...

the fan huh? I know that fan is still spinning when in idle.. What can I do? Do I pull of the drive belts and fan pully to take it off and replace?

everything seems to be good for now.. Hopefully it will last. only thing is now that I don't get heat not unless I am moving. Basically when it sits at idle the heat turns into ambient air. once I step on the gas and get going the heat comes back. Do I have poor circulation or a clog somewhere?

everything looks normal. The coolant is transparent green. The oil looks like oil. No water or coolant when checking the dipstick. Doesn't look milky white.. I don't think i am burning up coolant cause the white smoke only happens when I first start the car after a long rest. just puzzling

i'll try replacing the cap. basically I have experienced where the car started over heating. when I let it cool the reservoir tank was full of coolant and the radiator itself was fairly empty. This has happened on two occasions. Today when I got home from work it started over heating again...

OK. I hope this isn't a BHG. If it is this will be the 3rd time!!! My coolant in the radiator is goes empty but the reservoir is totally over filling. It is on a 92 4Runner V6 with approx 240k on it. any ideas?

Re: fuel smell It has been a while since the fuel smell, but it is back and I did look on the passenger side. I saw some sort of drip, most likely fuel. it was dripping by an exhaust pipe, but not on it.. is there the right location???

you might have a hole in your exhaust somewhere. (other than no muffler)

I wont disagree with the owners manual, but I have pushed to the limit.. and I have and I have put more than 17.2 gal in a tank. I usually do not top off either.

Well the one thing that I didn't really check. The idle screw. Messed with the screw and now the idle is back up.

any ideas?
