I have not done anything to fix this for months. I figured the worst and decided to keep driving it until it won't move anymore and then buy a new vehicle. But today I get in and put it in R just for the reverse light...and it goes into reverse. Overdrive is back as well...i'm at 2100 rpm at...
Yes the 4 bolts are for the filter. When I took the pan off the 4 bolts and filter were laying on the bottom of the pan. I dont know how the rust got there either...all of the black coating had peeled off and the inside of the pan was orange colored...rust. Two of the filter cork gaskets were...
I removed the pan and the filter and 4 bolts were on the bottom of the pan. Most of the black coating on the inside of the pan had peeled off and one of the cork gaskets on the filter is missing. Possibly sucked into the valve body? The whole bottom of the pan had lightly rusted somehow. I...
Yes it was a simple repair. I took it to naperville toyota and was quoted 750.00 to fix the problem I said NO. Watched a few videos on youtube...ordered new solenoid for 20 bucks popped it in and has worked like new for the past 7 years.
258,000 miles on the truck never had a problem. But now there is no reverse gear...I put the truck in reverse nothing happens..it acts as if it's in neutral and rolls freely. Gears in forward all work except a strange problem with overdrive. When I get to 49mph the shift to overdrive does...
I don't get the converter lockup at 50mph anymore after the check engine light came on. I tested the circuit and it was ok, must be the solenoid. Thanks for the links.
The p0773 is back on my 2000 4runner, I tested the circuit and it looks ok, so i'm changing the solenoid. Where can I buy the SL lockup solenoid? Dealer wants 240.00, napa wants 199.00. Anywhere for a better price, online maybe?
I was going to take it to the dealer this morning to have it scanned to pull the correct codes, but Thomas Toyota in Joliet wants 85.00 just to scan it for the specific trouble codes. It takes less than a minute to hook up a scanner and pull a code. 85.00???? Crooked dealership. I called...
On my way to the store today the check engine light comes on, autozone was a few blocks away so I stopped in for a scan and the code is P0700. Anyone have this code before? It's on a 2000 4runner limited with automatic transmission.
Thanks but I picked one up this morning. unfortunately both side corner lights aren't coming on for some reason. I checked all fuses and replaced the bulbs.
Talk about lucky. Today I bought a 2000 4runner Limited with 110,000 miles for 7,400 from a private owner. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I drove it for 3 or 4 hours it runs like new. I'm sold on carfax, if it wasn't for that report I would have bought that total loss sr5.
