    Annapolis, MD Mechanic

Does anyone live in the Annapolis, MD are where the would recommend a mechanic they've used and trust? I'm looking at a pickup in that area, and am about eight hours away. Was hoping to get somebody to look at it, so I don't have to head down that way. Thanks.

    Fuel Pressure Regulator comprehension

Take a look at the attachment. Do I have the correct understanding of these hoses? Should the FPR continuously be dumping fuel through the return line? In other words, if I disconnect the return line, I start the pump and fuel starts pouring out of here. That's bad right if I'm...

    fuel pressure VSV location

Does anyone know where the location of the VSV on the 88 runner with a 3.0 motor is? The FSM talks about testing it, but I don't see a diagram showing where it's located. Is it the VSV in between the EGR and PAIR VSV's?

    3vz fuel rail bleeder

Does anybody know where the 'schrader' valve bleeder is located on the fuel rail. I know I saw it when I changed the valve cover gaskets, and can't remember where it is to save my life. thanks in advance.

    Confused for sure

Ok, so I know I have fuel at the rail. I pulled the hose off the overflow valve and had plenty of fuel. I tested the spark off the ignition coil and at the spark plug. Spark at both. Reset the engine codes and tried to restart. Same error code coming up after the start. BUT the engine...

    Confused for sure

Fuel system issues with ignition error code 14 To start this is in regards to an 88 3VZE runner with 95K on it. Like most, everything has been running great and strong. Risking the roads during Hurricane Irene, it STB on me. I don't even think the engine was warm yet. Going up a hill, it...

    Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

88, 3vze, 95K The covers are leaking pretty regularly. It used to be 10W40 would be enough to stop the leak but that's not enough any more, so I'm just trying to get a parts list together for the job. Going through the forums and FSM I believe this is what I need to pick up. Is there...

My engine won't crank over even with a new battery

Also check the battery terminals and cables. I know you said it's a new battery, but without a good ground you won't have enough amps to crank it over. Ensure everything is clean with good connections around.

    Stock Radio

It does work. As far as CD players being released in the 90's. I remember the same, but wasn't sure if it was just my lack of funds that prevented me from even thinking of pulling the trigger on something like that. Sounds like my suspicions are confirmed that it's out of something else...

    Stock Radio

I've bought a few parts off a guy, and he's offering up a radio out of a 4runner that I'm not familiar with. It's stamped Toyota, but has a CD, Tape, and AM/FM radio. The Runner is an 87 I believe. Does anybody know if this was a stock or option for it. Or my guess is that it was pulled out...

    Just a fuse or....?

Easy enough to check, but I doubt it's the adapter. I'd have to guess it's a short somewhere on that system. Check the simple things first. Go through and make sure all your lights are working. I had this happen on a Taco a couple years back. Turned out when I had been pulled over a few wks...

    guage clusters

Not as easy as it sounds, or at least not for me. In order to remove the pad, you'll need to first remove the cluster cover (five screws and a couple wiring harnesses). But I'm guessing you've done that since you are removing the cluster anyways. Then there are seven screws on the font of the...

    Snow Tires????? HELP...

I've been running 31X10.5 Firestone Destination M/T for the last few years. Actually on my second set and will get a third when it's time. I actually run them all year long. They are setup to accept studs, but I have never studded them (hence the all year usage). I can say I have never...
