Hi All, My 4R needs an engine and it is a federal emissions car. I have found a cheap but trusty cali emissions engine that I would like to put in. I've been doing some digging and see that I would need to at least swap the intake manifolds, is there anything else?

I have a Roofnest Falcon on a Sherpa MK1 rack with a 4xinnovations rear bumper with swing full size spare (33" e load general grabber). It is on Dobinsons C59-210v rear springs. Still handles great, but man, when the tent is off, it feels like a race car handling-wise LOL.

I undid the connection after I had the alternator free from the brackets. Was 100% easier. I have done it both ways and while the alternator is attached to the engine, it took two people to pry it off lol

It is a quick job! Was happy to be able to do it all from the engine bay and not have to pull my 4xinnovations skid off.

So I replaced the brushes, got the alternator back in, and noticed the light was still on... scratching my head I started checking voltage and noticed it was dropping quickly, worse than it had before. I thought maybe I finally shook something loose 100% and now the alternator was toast. I go to...

Ive done this, 14.3 consistently, but when the light comes on it will range from 12.2 to 11.6ish then will go away on its own.

Holy crap! Yeah the Tim the Toolmans brushes were pretty worn on his video. Question: If it was the voltage regulator, could it also be intermittent like this or would it just crap out altogether? I checked the connector on the back and it clicks in well and didnt look to have any corrosion...

Hello All, As the title states, I have been getting an intermittent battery light. 5VZ SR5 with 310k miles. I have a voltmeter in the car and it will go from 14.2-3 to 12.2 to 11.6 back to 14.2. Starts every morning just fine. I did notice that the wipers get slow when the battery light...

Figured I would reply here with my findings with the hope it helps someone out in the future. I took the driveshaft off and drove it in FWD. No noise. Had the front double cardan/ CV joint rebuilt by a local bearing/driveshaft shop, and the noise is gone. Thanks to all who responded. :cheers:

Question, if I put the t case in neutral, then the transmission in say 3rd, will it spin the t case? Obviously wouldn’t be loaded up but maybe just enough to get the noise? Had a buddy go for a ride and he seems to think it’s the rear end. Going to see if I can get a video
