I am about to attempt the same (similar) thing, A340H out of a 1988 4runner 3VZE into my 1987 Turbo, mine will not move in drive but reverse works. Why did you go with another automatic over a 5 speed? My donor transmission was local and cheap but eventually I would like to do a manual swap.
