That is good to hear. So you have Dobinsons shocks all the way around? I hear that Dobinson stuff is good quality.

Hey guys, I need shocks and struts (plus probably coils) for my 2005 V8 SR5. It currently has takeoffs from maybe a 2008/8 FJ Cruiser. The ride is a bit stiff and this vehicle never goes offroad anymore. I was hoping to soften up the ride a bit but I assume then I will need front/rear coils...

2005 with only 230,000 miles or so. I quit going to the office and my wife works from home as well or I'd have 300K on it by now. Drives great. Just need to figure out new brakes.

I ordered some tough fabric Cover Kings in tan for my SR5. Of course, I was intending to install them but forgot so they are still sitting around. Regardless, they are pretty tough in feel and should be very durable. I'll prob never get around to installing them though:rolleyes:

Nothing visible but the clunk was getting worse and only coming from the rear left side. The shop took the wheel off and maybe the rotor off too and only then could they tell that the seal had failed and the bearing was toast.

My issue was the left rear axle seal. The parking brake is good and my garage is level. I never park on the driveway. I thought of that first but that wasn't it.

I replied. It was the rear axle seal on the right side. take it to a shop with a proper bearing puller.

It really is. I have been looking online but not going to the dealerships yet since that is just practically committing! I have been trying to also piece together a Synergy lift with 35s and 37s to see what that would add to the cost.

The prices are FINALLY starting to tempt me. I don't really like small trucks but I could get a Rubicon Gladiator and if I found one with the XR package, I'd not have to do much to it since it would come with a re-gear to 4.56 and 35s...and all under warranty. We have a LOT of Gladiators on...

Oh I got my clocked cleaned like nobody I know. It has been dreadful.

I’ll assume that is with the 4-cylinder turbo if there is a motor like that. Pretty impressive, and especially so for Toyota. It may be time to start looking at TM stock.

The new LC is probably the only Toyota that interests me and ONLY if it has better offroading chops than the current 4R and stronger rear lockers/diff. My wife likes the GX550 for obvious reasons- bigger, comfier, fancier. The first year may be a rush to buy these and if that happens, dealers...

It is extremely unlikely that the body/body flares are that much wider. Has to be the mirrors. The body- I'd guess 2-3 inches wider...need to find someone who has taken measurements.

I doubt they will drop the 4R. There will likely be that 15K price difference between the two. The 4Runner, the Land Cruiser, the Sequoia, and the GX550, will be in play. I am curious to see the crash test ratings for passengers, which has become a very important criteria.
