Really interested to hear updated review thoughts, especially regarding snow and ice performance.
I'm also in Colorado. I've had Kumho Crugen HT51 (A Michelin Defender LTX MS clone) on my rig for 6 years and 30k miles and have used about 30-50% of the usable tread. The tires...
Update?
So it's been a year and a half now. Updates? We're they "brighter" than halogens? How's the color? More white? Or on the blue end? You get flashed a lot? You have to readjust the aim? How are they holding up? Would buy again?
2005 v6 4WD
Before:
DSF/PSF 18 4/8" / 19 1/8"
DSR/PSR Forgot to measure
After:
DSF/PSF 21 6/8" / 22 1/8"
DSR/PSR 22 6/8" / 22 7/8"
I think my old suspension must have been really sagged because it looks like I got 3" or more, but the numbers I have other people achieved with...
Lift Lean
Most people here I'm sure have moved on, but for posterity: Yes. Toyota actually uses side-specific springs. The Driverside springs might be a hair stiffer or a hair longer or have an extra coil wrap, but Toyota compensates from the factory in some way. Aftermarket springs installed...
Added standard caveat/disclaimer: all lifts from new springs depend on your current setup, it's age, and it's wear and sag. If you have old original springs with 100k or more on them, you're likely to get much more lift than if you've got brand new springs.
884 and 2884 are the same. 883/4/5/6 are the old OME numbers. OME was acquired by ARB, so now you buy ARB OME parts, and the new parts just add a 2 in front. They're otherwise identical.
The stock spring rate should be 580 lb/in, but that may have changed from 4th gen to 5th gen. Someone...
One question I have for anyone that might know is this:
There's a sticky over in the suspension/lift section that includes spring rates and lengths for a variety of coils. In it, it notes "OEM FJC", but neither it nor this discussion note which years or versions apparently there are four...
Thank you so much zekeedwards. I've been trying to find the right small lift without compromising ride quality. This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks so much for these details.
I'll definitely either go with the MOOG 81088 (+0.7"-1") or the OME 883 (+~1.2")
Now I just need to...
Wow...Just...Wow
I've actually given a lot of thought to why I can't find anyone replacing the 4th gen VVTi 1GR with the 5th gen dual VVTi 1GR. In theory, it's the same engine and, in theory, should bolt up nicely. It would require a new ECU, maybe new exhaust headers, and maybe new secondary...
The real question ...
... and I can't believe no one has asked this yet ...
In theory both engines are 1GR-FE's. In theory they have the same mounting geometry. If/When a 4th gen 1GR-FE kicks the bucket at 300-500k miles, can it be replaced with a 5th gen 1GR-FE? If you've got to replace the...
Missing Table?
I swear the original post used to have a table of suspension values. I've SEEN it. I've been going crazy this morning trying to find it. :smash::smash::smash: I'm almost POSITIVE it was here. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or what's wrong? Or where to find it?
Someone...
