He opted to cover it by insurance. It goes in on monday morning. His insurance is also covering a rental that comps the 4runner. I thought that was nice.

Does anyone know from experience if particular roof cargo trays or cargo boxes make noise while on the freeway? I really need to get one or the other but dont want extra noise on the road, I like the quiet ride as is.

I tow two different trailers, a 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer and a 25 ft travel trailer. Trust me you will not need a WDH for that. Load it heavy to the front and you'll have no problem. I do have an airlift 1000 on the rear that keeps the rig level, but even before we installed it the trailers...

what will happen if you use 75w-90 synthetic? I used this in place of the 75w-85. A guy from an oil change company just told me I voided my warranty. I plan on Towing tomorrow and am a little concerned.

I used to have a travel trailer that was 4500#. I towed it all the way to Chico, CA from Olympia, WA. It did not always like towing the trailer, but it did. no overheating. I have since bought a new travel trailer that wieghs much less and I am happy it is not a white knuckle drive anymore.

The guy at the welding shop could fabricate one for about $600. I think I will wait for someone else to make one. There ARE holes in the frame already from the factory.

I would love to replace it. No one makes an aftermarket hitch.

How do I "prove" it wasn't overloaded? It truly hasn't been overloaded. The guy that owns the hitch and welding business said that it should not crack even in a rollover crash with a trailer

I pull a travel trailer and a enclosed work trailer. I notice the paint chipped away from a weld on the receiver part of the hitch. I took it to a welding business and the guy said he thought that the design was cheesy. I plan on taking it in. Does anyone know if it would be covered under warranty?

I towed a travel trailer 1400 miles from Olympia, WA to Sacramento, CA. It weighed 4800#. The 4 runner did well except for the passes and the gas mileage lol.
