    Color Confusion

We have Salsa Red with Black leather... it looks fantastic in the sun, but like a 15 year-old burgundy Taurus under indirect light. Would have got White in a heartbeat, but it's only available on the LTD in Canada... In hindsight.. given how crappy the Salsa looks when it is dirty, we might as...

Just need to vent - 11 te

I don't like my 2011 SR5 Upgrade either... let my wife push us into it... I've had 3 Tacoma's (1994, 2000, 2006) and we should have hung on to the Tacoma or waited for the new one... When you are used to a longer wheelbase, the 4Runner does seem skittery... I find it takes a lot more attention...

    Snow driving - 4L vs 4H in 1st (S mode)

Low range is useful when you are expecting to be travelling very slowly over rough terrain. If you are just in snow, 4lo is not really useful unless it is so slippery that you need to activate ATRAC - the fancier mode of the traction control - which only works in 4lo. If I am on soft ground...

Considering a 5th gen SR5 and have questions

The whole TRAC thing was sold to be as 'better than a limited slip' . Maybe it needs a bit more aggressive software... We've had 3 feet of snow in the last 3 days, so everything here is either ice or packed snow. Maybe the Trail edition has more brains, but the guts of the drive line are the...

Considering a 5th gen SR5 and have questions

I think that was a big part of our experience - we moved to a new town and the closest Toyota dealer had a sales person that was very rude and pushy. We still were interested in the 4Runner, so ended up going to the next city 2 hours away to look at one. I'm no Troll... My last vehicles have...

What oil are you using? 4.0L

My Yota dealer has 0w20 on tap for the newer cars. Can't be bothered to make a mess doing it myself when they only charge $15 + parts at the dealership...

Considering a 5th gen SR5 and have questions

You can buy the Toyota warranty up until the basic power-train expires, but they ding you extra $$$ for waiting. Don't screw with 3rd party insurance... too many horror stories, esp if Toyota warranty is an option. I went with 7 years, 160,000km and it was $1600... pretty good deal. As far...

    2012 t4r?

It is measured in milliseconds, and I assure you, the person screwing around on their iPhone behind you won't care... My experience with LED's is that when an element goes dead, you are looking at replacing the whole assembly, or living with a dead dot. But, they typically last a long time...
