OK. I feel like an idiot but I pulled both cables off and cleaned/wire brushed the cables and terminals and it started twice just fine. I'll move forward with the radio install and keep the jumper box in the bed just in case. I'll probably go ahead with your suggestion tomorrow after it sits...
