I don't have a BT mic installed either, but th Bluetooth Audio is selectable and works. Just the phone part won't work without the mic, but it is also selectable and you still get notifications of calls.

I am installing a Scion PT546-00140 to my 2005 4Runner. I have ordered all the required adapters and cables. But the head unit arrived before the adapters, so I couldn't resist and took my console apart and installed the new head unit. I plugged in the Power and Speakers, no adapter required...
