I saw those too on eBay, I just hadn't made up my mind to leave the OEM Scion cable because of the hope of possible having an AUX input. (See earlier post)
I'm not even sure if it IS possible and I hate to throw down the cash and it doesn't work…

My 4Runner doesn't have the USB/Aux port, it's Aux only. So I'm not keen on spending another $60-70 to buy that port, and whatever cable goes in between the two to make it work.
My intention is to mount my phone off the dash with the Ram Mount X-grip and fit a USB cable through there. And if it does work, I'm excited to be able to return the expensive cable

Having received all of the plugs today, except for the USB->Scion (shipped today), I went ahead and installed my radio this evening. I just couldn't wait.
Well, the AUX portion in my console still works. Even though I did not plug anything into the USB cable spot on the radio itself. So this means the AUX line is coming in through the factory harness plug.
I guess we will find out later this week if it continues to work after I plug in this ebay USB cable, so that I will have both AUX and USB.
(Bearing in mind I NEVER use analog connections on digital devices if I can avoid it, I'll always stick with data connections, i.e. USB or Bluetooth)
The cable shown in your picture of the USB/AUX port has two plugs on the stereo side, one for the USB, another for the AUX. If your 4Runner has the AUX in the console, you already have half that cable built into your vehicle's harness.
So everything works on the new head unit, except for the USB, which I withheld from installing until I get the new cable, and the NAV because good lord that's expensive, and I have SIRI for that.
Now, how do I get that awful SCION logo off the screen upon startup?! haha
I am installing a Scion PT546-00140 to my 2005 4Runner. I have ordered all the required adapters and cables. But the head unit arrived before the adapters, so I couldn't resist and took my console apart and installed the new head unit.
I plugged in the Power and Speakers, no adapter required and the systems powers up and plays cds, pairs phone, etc. But there is no sound!!!
My question is: Do I need the other adapters for the sound to work, even though these adapters are for the BT Mic and Antenna ?
I plugged in my old T1804 back and it works as it should so I know my wiring harness is still good.
Please please please, this is driving me nuts.

I would not attempt to install it without the adapters, who knows what wires changed positions between the two radios.
In my installation, only ONE plug went into the new radio without an adapter (steering wheel controls maybe? I don't know what the plug went to), so I know that at least four plugs needed adapting.
You really have to be careful on vehicles with CAN-BUS systems, you can fry modules with very little effort.

Ok, I have read most all of the Scion radio threads I can find and have installed one in my 2003 4Runner. I would like to install satellite radio. I purchased the harness and the Sirius module but can't get it to work. I can't find a way to select satellite on the PT546-00140. Am I missing something or is it a no go for satellite on this model?

Well, the USB cable came, and I installed it after work.
The ebay cable works. Search Ebay for "Axxess OEM USB Retention Adapter" and you will see a couple cables come up, the one we want is obvious by looking at the plug. There is a longer plug here, if the url breaks, search for "toyota aux usb cable"
Am I pleased with it? Not really. Plugging into the USB does not show album art like I thought it would. The connection is good, it works, but meh. For a radio made for model year 2014, I would expect better features than the Alpine IVAW505 I had in my tC back in 2009!
But it does charge my phone! So there's that.
So, if you want USB, this cable will save you over $50.00. The only thing is that it's a short cable. I had a USB extension cable lying around at work that I used to extend it to the console storage compartment.

I use the OEM (Scion cable requiring modification) USB cable with my iPod Classic 160gb 5th gen and it does display artwork (assuming you have artwork loaded onto the iPod). I am using the
2013 FRS Bespoke radio but I assume it should be the same for the 2014. I am planning on upgrading to the 2014 version soon so I will post an update once installed. I have not gotten artwork to display for CDs, or streaming via bluetooth.
Also, I been having issues with the USB function using my iPhone 5s (lightning connector). Every time I plug my phone in it cycles between charging and not charging. I have tried multiple phones so I know it is not something wrong with my phone. I have always tested the voltage at the lightning connector and its outputting ~5v which is what the iPhone requires. No issues when using iPhone 4 or iPod touch with 30pin connector. I am not sure why. Havent been able to figure it out. :noidea: . Sorry for the rant
I have tried multiple cables and phones. I am stumped. I wonder if it'll work when I update to the 2014. Here is a pic of the head unit I have.

When I plugged in my iPhone 5S for the first time, and selected "iPod" on the head unit, it said it couldn't find any compatible iPod music, and advised me to add some and try again.
My phone is full of music, all or most from the iTunes Store, so it's "real iPod" music. For that reason, I've just continued to use Bluetooth for music, although I'm digging the quality of the HD Radio on the terrestrial stations, too!

Well after some searching I finally found a pretty good deal on one of these radios. I picked it up off eBay for $225 and he was local so I just drove and picked it up. It looked brand new and had a production sticker of November 2014. I had already bought the wiring harnesses from my friend that works at Toyota. Took about 30mins to install and it was super easy.
I love how this radio looks and works. I like having a clean factory look and this is definitely what I wanted. I like having Bluetooth again also, coming from a car that had it and then going back to not having it sucked.

Precisely why I did this swap. I was going completely nuts dealing with streaming audio not being controlled by the head unit, and not being able to use my phone.
Have you pushed the voice button in the upper left corner yet?

Just an update: I was able to buy the bluetooth, 28 pin adapter, and antenna adapter for just under $100 from Toyota Parts Factory | Your #1 Source for Genuine OEM Toyota - Scion Parts and Accessories
...ended up being about $60 less in total than what I found on Amazon. Can't wait to get this installed!

That's a good find. My friend works at a Toyota dealer and was able to get me all the harnesses for $91.
Do you get the antenna adapter and splitter too?

1) Is the AUX port the same size as the blank buttons between the center console and shifter? I don't have an AUX port and was curious if it would fit there with no/minimal modification. You mind taking pictures of the two to compare?
2) Does the AUX Source option show up if the AUX port is unplugged? I don't have that Source option now, so I'm also curious which parts I'm missing, the harness and port or only the port. Again, a picture would be helpful. Can you take a picture of the AUX end of the harness?

I didn't get any pictures, but the dimensions are different. The good news is you should have a knock-out inside the console that will fit the correct AUX socket. And there's probably a plug taped to the harness waiting for the socket.
Again, no photo, I didn't take apart the console to check these things, but chances are the wiring is included in the harness. But, are you SURE you want this? $97.00!!! And it's ANALOG. You'd be taking your digital music, putting it out through your headphone jack, to the AUX input. I used this before my upgrade, and hated it. Since getting the bluetooth, I haven't used it.
If nothing is plugged into the AUX input, it will not show up on the touchscreen as an option, as soon as I plug something into it, the option appears on the selection screen.
With my iphone plugged into the USB port, and a cable plugged into the AUX port, the AUX input is an option on the touchscreen.
Nope, no album artwork, and I tried about 20 different bands tonight.
Finally tonight, I got it to work, but it took holding my lightning cable in a pinch, something is wrong with the apple lightning cable.
I see on ebay that this same model stereo can be found for the Highlander, I'm assuming that would have a Toyota logo, but it was going for considerably more money than I paid for this one. I think I'll deal with it until I can find a way to get rid of it
