I've driven my 96 back and forth from Buffalo to Atlanta a few times. I did a good check over and made sure I had fresh fluids. Tire pressure makes a diff in MPG's so watch that as well. Funny thing is I'm from Phoenix and now live in Buffalo.

That was my thoughts as well, keeping the stock rims which have 10.50s on them now with no issues. I figured the extra 2 inches would be ok.

Ah all very true but all posts seem to be one member saying no way and then another coming back with absolutely. I know I can run 33's with a lift but will I be ok with out the lift for the time being?

I bought my 96 3yrs ago for $4500 and have never looked back, I love it.

Anyone have any experience with these yet? I think I see some 33x10.50x15's in my near future.

I've had this issue for 4 yrs now but as soon as the engine gets warm it's fine. I assumed the heat from the engine thawed it and all was good. Are we saying that this could happen while driving?

Sounds like a plan

I guess my problem is it engages so quickly and doesn't let go. I grew up driving 70's cars in the snow, I feel like the ABS in my Runner is dangerous in the snow. In dry or even rain conditions I imagine it's fine.

So we've had our first decent snow fall here in Buffalo and I had forgotten how awesome the ABS system is in my 96 SR5. Now I realize my tires are a year older but by no means in bad shape. Do any of you snow driving gurus have any solutions to the ABS system on this otherwise awesome truck...

I currently have 31x10.50x15 BFG All Terrains on mine and have been happy. I plan on moving up to 33x10.50x15 in the spring.
