Nobody knows?? What do you guys do when the battery in your remote dies and you don't have an extra battery on you?

Just bought a 1996 4runner, and the alarm seems to want to go off when its not expected. When the alarm is going off, the remote doesn't shut it off(brand new battery) and I was wondering is there a way to turn the alarm off with the key? Also, is there a way to extend the range of this alarm...
