Help! How to disengage factory alarm w/out remote??

Just bought a 1996 4runner, and the alarm seems to want to go off when its not expected. When the alarm is going off, the remote doesn't shut it off(brand new battery) and I was wondering is there a way to turn the alarm off with the key?

Also, is there a way to extend the range of this alarm?

Nobody knows?? What do you guys do when the battery in your remote dies and you don't have an extra battery on you?

dunno about the 96's, but for my '02 with the rs3200, by using the key in any lock will shut it off
